Controlled either manually or via an autopilot patch, a full Hydraulic Shock-absorption system enables the driver to alter the rigidity of their vehicle's suspension system in response to varying road conditions. (Of course, you can always install the system just so you can do those neato 'jumping car' tricks like you see in rap videos.)
NOTE: Once installed, the system essentially allows the vehicle's on
and off-road handling ratings to be 'swapped' whenever the driver wishes.
However, the difference between these two ratings cannot be greater than
4. If the difference exceeds this amount, the higher of the two handling
ratings must be permanently dropped so it falls within this range (i.e.
a handling of 3/8
would have to be changed to 3/7, and a handling of 7/2 would have to
be changed to 6/2.) The values can then be swapped at the driver's discretion.
Cost: Use the normal Improved Suspension cost table, but triple all prices. Note that you do not receive any suspension bonuses for paying this amount; it simply represents the cost of the system. Hydraulic Shocks cannot be installed on top of prior suspension enhancements, although the suspension can be altered after the Hydraulic Shocks are installed by paying double the normal cost. Just remember that the difference between the on and off-road ratings still cannot exceed 4.
